I though that I might provide some background to my efforts to shape up and lose weight I guess through my life I have always tended to be overweight, in recent years (decades) as my physical activity levels have declined, without a commensurate reduction in calorie input my weight has climbed - up to the point of technical obesity BMI over 30. I have not made much in the way of serious attempts to remedy the situation, although some years ago we seriously tried the low carbohydrate diet: this did work, but was of questionable merit health wise and was impossible, in practice, to sustain, I will return to this in a moment. Desultory sessions at the Gym , really no fun at all, can't see what people see in it. Over the last few years I have loosely followed a low GI diet and this has at least stabilised my weight at the threshold of obesity, that's something but not really a situation to be proud of. In fact our implementation of a low GI diet, did succeed in reducing my weight to the 98 Kg region from around 105 and my waist measurement to 107 cm from 112. And hold it there for a number of years. So it is with some interest that I approached the new Peptide Fat Loss plan. Which I started at the beginning of Dec 2008. But now to return to the Low Carbo Diet.In the early 1990s (I don't have a record of the date readily to hand, if at all) Joan and I went on to a supervised low Carbo diet. A pretty standard one, I guess, very little in the way of Carbohydrates and restricted, weighed protein. Undoutably I lost weigh (not sure how much) but certainly a trouser size, down to 102 cm, more of this to come. There were some significant immediate effects from the diet,
But the diet did work and we persevered through the problems through the difficulties in getting suitable meals when we had to eat out (restaurants don't skimp on the protein for no reason, its expensive). We did see results and that impacted on our wardrobe. In addition to having some trousers altered I splurged on a pair of green R.M Williams Moleskins, size 102 cm. Of course when we eventually came off the diet, as was inevitable and failed to establish a satisfactory maintenance regime, our weight came back on and more. So within a few years my weight had gone up to its greatest ever around 105 Kg and trousers up to an incredible 112 cm. So the Moleskins were relegated to the back of the wardrobe and somehow managed to survive downsizing and interstate relocation etc. - in the faint hope that one day I would be able to wear them again (well they were virtually new and R.M.Williams clothes are not exactly cheap). Well thanks to the Peptide technology that day has come. With a weight of around 84 Kg, currently and a waist measurement of maybe 97 cm, I can wear the Moleskins again, they are even a little loose and maybe get to be taken in a bit. I so delighted with my new body image and achievement in getting into (and surpassing) my thin clothes. Just can't believe how much easier and much less painful this technology is than the old discredited weight management diets. Eric Youle PS The new technology is so much more healthy, we personally suspect that our foray into the controlled diet regime was the catalyst for our later development of cancers.. but that's another story. |
